DC21 Graduation – Student Information

Graduation is Friday, May 31, 2024 (no school day)

Graduation Day Expectations

• Students must rehearse to walk into the ceremony
  • Bus from DC21 leaves at 2:00 PM 
  • Grads who choose to drive to the venue must be at the King Center by 2:30 pm to participate in rehearsal and ceremony.
• The bus will only take students to the venue. Graduates will need their own transportation after the ceremony.

Day of Graduation Agenda

• School Bus departs for the King Center from DC-21 at 2:00 pm
• 2:30 pm – 5:15 pm – Graduate rehearse
• 5:15 pm – 5:45 PM – Graduates will have time to prepare for the ceremony to start
• 5:45 pm Graduates line up to begin the procession
  

Graduation Ceremony begins at 6:00 PM. 

• Doors will close at 6 PM and open after initial procession of graduates

Guests

• Each graduate will be allowed 15 guests – (must have printed ticket) 
• Guests: NO flowers, NO balloons, and NO loose glitter
• Seating will begin for guests from 5:15 -5:45 pm (doors will not open before then)

What to wear:

• Black graduation gown and cap with tassel (NO loose glitter)
• Graduation outfit
• Shoes—Remember that you will be walking up and down and across the stage. Wear shoes that are comfortable and safe for standing and walking for extended periods. 

Important Note

Students must stay for the entire rehearsal. Graduates WILL NOT have time to pick up their ceremony clothes or cap and gowns. Please come ready with all your belongings. 

Please do not bring large bags or valuables; the only place to store personal items is in a room with other student belongings.

Transportation:

• DPS School bus will transport graduates to the King Center at 2:00 PM
• NO BUS back to DC-21 Students are free to leave after the ceremony with their families
• Carpooling is encouraged!
• Students can park at DC-21 and take the bus to the King Center.

Park your car and make the payment

1. Go to a payment kiosk and touch any key to start.

2. Enter your license plate number, then accept the daily fee rate.

3. It is not necessary to print a receipt for your dashboard.

Car and Van Parking is recommended in the 7th Street Garage, the Holly Lot, or the Spruce Lot.

Expectativas del día de graduación

• El ensayo es requerido para los estudiantes para participar en la ceremonia de graduacion.
  • El autobús de DC21 sale a las 2:00 p.m. 
  • Los graduados que opten por conducir hasta el lugar deben estar en el King Center antes de las 2:30 p. m. para participar en el ensayo y la ceremonia.
• El autobús solo llevará a los estudiantes al lugar de celebración, necesitarán transporte después de la ceremonia.

Invitados

• Invitados: NO flores, NO globos y NO brillantina suelta
• Los asientos comenzarán para los invitados de 5:15 p.m. a 5:45 p. m. (las puertas no se abrirán antes de esa hora)

Vestuario:

• Toga de graduación negra y birrete con borla (SIN brillantina suelta)
• traje de graduación
• Zapatos: tenga en cuenta que caminará arriba y abajo del escenario. Use zapatos que sean cómodos y seguros para estar de pie y caminar durante períodos prolongados. 

NOTA IMPORTANTE

A los estudiantes no se les permitirá salir ni tener tiempo de salir para recoger su ropa de ceremonia o toga y birrete. Por favor venga preparado con todas sus pertenencias. 

NO traiga bolsos grandes ni objetos de valor, ya que el único lugar para guardar artículos personales será en una habitación junto con otras pertenencias de los estudiantes.

Transporte:

• El autobús escolar de DPS transportará a los graduados al King Center a las 2:00 p.m.
• NO HAY AUTOBÚS de regreso a DC-21. Los estudiantes son libres de irse después de la ceremonia con sus familias.
• ¡Se recomienda compartir el coche!
• Los estudiantes pueden estacionarse en DC-21 y tomar el autobús hasta el King Center.

ضيوف

• ضيوف: لا يوجد زهور ولا بالونات ولا لمعان سائب
• ستبدأ عملية الجلوس للضيوف من الساعة 5:15 إلى 5:45 مساءً (لن تفتح الأبواب قبل ذلك الوقت)

ماذا ارتدي:

• ثوب التخرج الأسود وقبعة بشرابة (بدون لمعان فضفاض)
• زي التخرج
• الأحذية – ضع في اعتبارك أنك ستمشي صعودًا وهبوطًا على المسرح. ارتدي أحذية مريحة وآمنة لتتمكن من الوقوف والمشي لفترات طويلة من الوقت. 

ملاحظة مهمة

لن يُسمح للطلاب بالمغادرة أو أن يكون لديهم وقت للمغادرة لاستلام ملابس الحفل أو القبعة والعباءة الخاصة بهم. يرجى الحضور مع جميع متعلقاتك. 

يرجى عدم إحضار حقائب كبيرة أو أشياء ثمينة لأن المكان الوحيد لتخزين الأغراض الشخصية سيكون في الغرفة مع متعلقات الطلاب الأخرى.

مواصلات:

• ستقوم حافلة مدرسة DPS بنقل الخريجين إلى مركز الملك في تمام الساعة 2:00 ظهرًا
• لا توجد حافلة للعودة إلى DC-21 يتمتع الطلاب بحرية المغادرة بعد الحفل مع عائلاتهم
